Advanced DSE Workstation and Office Ergonomics Assessment

What is an Advanced DSE Workstation and Office Ergonomics Assessment?

  • What are DSE & Workstation Assessments?

Whether in the office or for home-working, and particularly in the current pandemic climate, where more and more people are working from home and are more likely to do so permanently, wellbeing and employee safety is of even more paramount importance.

In fact, employee safety and wellbeing is an employer’s legal obligation under Health and Safety Executive regulations.

Iasis Healthcare Ltd can carry out Advanced DSE Workstation and Office Ergonomics Assessments for you and your employees.

Many businesses forgo DSE workstation assessments, only to spend more later on their employees wellbeing. Yet employees sit down for long periods, adopting poor postures leading to repetitive strains, pains, stiffness, poor health and work absence. Investing in your employees wellbeing is also in the interests of the business for its success. Employee wellness and happiness equals a successful company.

Call for action

The world of work has changed immeasurably over the last 12 months. An ergonomic DSE assessment carried out to comply with legislation is no longer enough. A poorly designed workstation will eventually lead to ill health, in many cases a major cause of stress and poor mental health. If you wish to comply with the HSE ‘Go home safely’ then you need to ensure you adopt an ergonomic approach.

DSE assessments should be tied into your wellbeing policy as the design of workstations and tasks are often the main contributor to staff ill health.

DSE stands for Display Screen Equipment and a DSE assessment can be carried out for all types of working environments, some of which are listed below. Specific advice on legal requirements and good practice can be provided for these.

Assessment

The assessment consists of assessment, training and information on entitlements. It is comprehensive and will allow the DSE user to assess his or her own workstation and make adjustments to reduce the risk of ill health, stress and visual discomfort.

The assessment can be for individuals, teams, departments, or company wide – it is not confined to just offices.
